The police officer who claims EFF’s Julius Malema and Mbuyiseni Ndlozi assaulted him at Winnie-Madikizela Mandela’s funeral, has been accused of targeting the politicians.
Johannes Venter faced his second day of cross-examination by Malema’s lawyer in the Randburg magistrate’s court.
The pair are s l for allegedly assaulting Venter.Venter denies targeting Malema and Ndlozi at the funeral.
But Malema argues that he didn’t scrutinise other guests at the funeral. Venter is a member of Solidarity and assisted by minority rights group AfriForum.
Malema says this is why he stopped the EFF leaders from entering the graveyard. Venter says he had no malicious intent. The EFF leader is due to take the stand when the trial continues on 9 March 2021.
