The Department of Health confirmed 14,410 new cases of COVID-19 since the last report.
The department also reported a further 513 deaths, taking South Africa’s COVID-19 death toll to over 30,500.
Meanwhile, President Cyril Ramaphosa has called an urgent meeting of the National Coronavirus Command Council.
The announcement of an adjusted Level 3 Lockdown, has been criticized by several sectors.
Many are also slamming the government’s vaccine rollout plan.
On Sunday, the Health Minister announced plans to vaccinate 40-million people by the end of the year.
