The National Student Financial Aid Scheme says new students should now be able to check whether they’re eligible for funding.
Students had been complaining of being unable to register because they didn’t know if they’d qualified for funding.
NSFAS says unsuccessful first -time applicants can appeal through their portal. It welcomed Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande announcement that more funds had been allocated to NSFAS.
