South African rapper Maya Christinah Xichavo Wegerif, popularly known as Sho Madjozi, posted a video of herself getting the COVID to vaccinate on Friday 20 August.
The National Government allowed the 18-35 age group to get vaccinated earlier than originally planned and John Cena hitmaker Sho Madjozi joined the thousands of young people eager to get their jab on the first day.
In a video shared to Sho Madjozi’s Twitter account, where she has 719 700 followers, the star is seen arriving at the Power FM vaccine site in Houghton, Gauteng.
“Just arrived at Power House in Houghton, Johannesburg for my vaccine! They have a vaccination pop-up taking both registered and non-registered vaccinees until 6 pm today 🥳💃🏽#VaccineRollOutSA,” wrote Sho Madjozi on Twitter.

It’s safe to assume Sho Madjozi is not a fan of needles, the rapper’s facial expression said it all.
“Oh my goodness, I know I can’t cry and I usually do on injections,” said Majozi in an extended video posted to her Instagram story.
Although she flinched for a few seconds, she was surprised at how little she actually felt, asking the nurse “and that’s it?”, before she started to cheer. The rapper’s video is a total of 15 seconds long showing that it only takes a few seconds to get that jab!
“Just like that #VaccineRollOutSA it’s our time,” wrote Sho Madjozi on Twitter.

A COVID support group jumped into the comments section to thank the rapper for doing her bit.
“Great news! and thanks for doing your bit in keeping us all safe. Please encourage as many as you can to get vaccinated. The more vaccinated, the more protected we all are #GlobalCovidImmunity,” replied the support group to Sho Madjozi’s tweet.

Although the vaccine sometimes has side effects, Sho Madjozi pulled through and made an appearance on Capricorn FM from 10 am to 2 pm today, (21 August). Here is a snap from her Instagram story.
