Reacting to this nomination, Boity said this is rewarding and mentioned that her biggest social media engagement is when she posts her bestie Anton Jaftha, “this is beyond incredible and is a reward for the people who have supported me and have had my back…I don’t post anything from my personal life and people want to know, but he’s (Anton) just a best friend,” she clarified.
Make up nd beauty influencer Mihlali Ndamase encouraged her fans to vote for her as it would send a positive message to all the beauty content creators. “Hopefully we’ll take this one home, it isn’t for me alone but for other creatives that need to fight for recognition and respect in the entertainment space.”
On her social media, she showed off all her awards and expressed gratitude for everyone who supported her. “God did it again. I’ve been so blessed throughout my entire career. You know when people speak about finding ones purpose in life? I know that this is mine. I’m grateful God has lead me to it. Thank you my loves for making this all possible. I couldn’t have done it without you,” she said, adding a link to vote for her.
When Mihlali was announced as part of the Forbes 30 Under 30 list of ‘Africa’s young innovators and risk-takers in a pandemic year.’
She could not be more proud of this achievement, “An African child’s story worth telling. This is evidence of God’s faithfulness in my life. Thank you @forbesafrica what an honour, I am so humbled to be recognised by such a prestigious platform. To my loves, my supporters…we did it, we are officially part of the FORBES family!. #ForbesAfrica #forbes30under30”.
Lastly, Lasizwe Dambuza has not said anything on his social media yet but reacting to this nomination during the press conference he encouraged people to vote on November 1 so that we can put an end to load shedding.
“We currently load shedding, so if you don’t vote you basically saying this is cool and you don’t mind.”
Lasizwe has had a social impact as he and his team raised R2 million to help students with their university fees. There has been some commotion with people wanting to know what happened to the funds and accused him of fraud.
A very emotional Lasizwe said he will not do something like this again, “This has been popping up, I’ve been ignoring it … it was long overdue for me to respond and say what happened because people were terrorising me on social media and saying I ate the 2 million and I didn’t even see a cent of that 2 million. Everything was transferred to the Fundi organisation and they handled the proceedings,” he told TshisaLive.
