Rand Water has appealed to Gauteng consumers to continue to use water sparingly.
This as they wait for reservoirs to fill up after this week’s 54-hour infrastructure upgrade.
While the work on raw water pipelines in Vereeniging was completed on Wednesday, some reservoirs have only filled to levels of roughly 0.6 meters.
At least 1.5 meters is required before water can be pumped to further towers.
Suburbs in the south and west of the city will be most affected until levels can be restored.
As we wait for the systems to fully normalize, we make a special appeal to all consumers to please continue to use water sparingly.
Quick Tip: Designate one glass for your drinking water each day, this will help save water by cutting down the number of glasses to wash. pic.twitter.com/f964c1ruez
