As the modern generation, we tend to ignore the struggles our forefathers went through in order for us to be where we are within the society. Terms like ‘’bisexual’’ were deemed evil and being a transgender was deemed the work of the devil. It was not until the 1950s that transitioning became medically possible and eventually available in Britain before the whole world.

The pioneering trans people were Michael Dillon and Roberta Cowell.

Michael Dillon (1915-1962) was the first person in the world to transition from female-to-male through hormones and surgery.
