Haibo! Makhadzi accused of stealing the Changer Magiya song concept from a Malawian artist

Singer Makhadzi is being accused of stealing the idea for her upcoming single Change Magiya.

According to the Malawian artist called ‘Scrafoc’, Makhadzi drew lyrics from his song titled Ma Gear. His piece is currently released with a music video on streaming platforms already.

A few weeks ago, Makhadzi debuted a teaser of the song through a TikTok dance challenge. After her debut, a lot of people caught the wave. She had fans all over Southern African countries dancing with her sound on.

Her comment section buzzed with people begging her to drop the song. Some promised her they would play the music until it reached platinum.

Similarities between the two songs

Ma Gear by Scrafoc has the melody of a deep house feel fused with amapiano. His chorus is, “Ku changer magiya. Magiya magiya magiya.” Makhadzi’s chorus is, “Change magiya, change magiya,” repeatedly.

Hands off, Makhadzi.

Tweeps are not happy with the accusations against Makhadzi for various reasons. Reason number one is that ‘ change the gears ‘ has been a South African slang term for years. According to tweeps, the beats aren’t even alike.

Tables turn for Scrafoc

Since Makhadzi is a big name internationally, some tweeps are accusing Scrafoc of wanting clout using Makhadzi. Some even accused the Malawian artists of stealing the Virgo Deep house and amapiano sound from Mzansi.

Khadzi Nation up in arms for their African Queen

Khadzi Nation is Makhadzi’s fanbase. You do not tempt them by dissing Makhadzi. They are her online defence force. All of them are saying the accusations and fake and too malicious.
