Controversial Zodwa Wabantu issued a letter of demand for R10k refund

South African socialite and exotic dancer Zodwa Wabantu is hitting the headlines once again. This time she is on the wrong side of the law.

Born in KwaZulu-Natal, the dancer is trending on social media. This is because she was reportedly challenged for not pitching at an event organised by Deborah Dlamini.

The prolonged ignorance by Zodwa has forced the planner’s hand. She the decided to turn to her legal team in an attempt to force the star to fork out what is due to her.

Media reports suggest that Zodwa has been served with a letter of demand for an amount of R10 000.

TimesLIVE has it that Dlamini alleges that Zodwa owed her R10, 000 which she paid her as a deposit. Zodwa went on not pitch at the “Men’s Cave” event.

In a communique published by the daily publication, the demand states that the Zodwa must pay the amount within a week.

“We are therefore instructed to demand from you, as we hereby do, that you pay to our client the total amount of R10, 000 within (7) seven days from the date of receipt hereof, failing which if you are unable to effect payment or make payment arrangements, alternative you may refer the credit agreement (not the debt) to a debt counsellor, alternative dispute resolution agent, consumer court or ombud with jurisdiction,” reads the document.

In her response, Zodwa says she is engaged in her initiation process to become a traditional healer, Sangoma hence she could not come to the event.

She also made it clear that she forgot to pay Dlamini but confirmed she received the letter of demand.

“I was not really following up on it. I have so much going on in my life, so truly speaking I’m not on top of it. I’ll check on it now.”

Despite the response from the controversial dancer, it seems Deborah is not convinced Zodwa forgot about paying her.

She insisted that the entertainer is just telling lies to the media and that she always promised to make the payment in an hour.
