Bad Joke: Mohale makes fun of fallen HIV/AIDS activist Nkosi Johnson

We’ve come a long way in our understanding of HIV and AIDS, but discrimination against people with HIV/AIDS is still rampant. Tweeps have criticised Mohale Motaung for making a joke about HIV/AIDS activist Nkosi Johnson.

Motaung, who also gas his own fair share of drama, was criticised after sharing an image of 6 tablets with the caption; ‘Even Nkosi Johnson didn’t take so many at once’

Mohale has since deleted the tweet, but Twitter users won’t seem to late this slide – understandably so.

Nkosi Johnson was only 12 years old when he died after having Aids. He was born with HIV in Johannesburg, South Africa.

At the time he died in 2001 Nkosi was the longest-surviving child born with HIV.
