The Johnson family released a press release statement through Lumko Johnson’s social media to let their fans know they had passed on. They died on 14 September 2022, and the details around their death are not yet shared with the public. The details of all funeral and memorial arrangements will be shared with their family in due course. They asked the media to respect their privacy as they deal with their loss.

They nurtured a great career as a producer in both the television industry and radio. Their job also consisted of an arm in the writing department. They were also actors as they held several roles in drama series like iNkaba, Mzansi Love, Kowethu, Unmarried and many more. They were a significant figure in the LGBTQIA+ community and the fashion industry. All these communities have suffered a great loss.
Lumko Johnson is one of the several celebrities who have died untimely in the celebville. The list includes Mncedisi Shabangu, Ricky Rick, Busi Lurayi, and others. They will forever be remembered for their illustrious career behind the scenes in the entertainment industry. This is on top of all the hearts they touched in the 32 years they have lived.
