South African gospel star Dumi Mkokstad is making headlines once again and this time it’s something that will damage his reputation.
This comes after a damning allegation made against the talented gospel muso, Mdumiseni ‘Dumi Mkokstad’ Nzimande who is accused of sleeping with other men.
According to an event organiser, Aviwe Gqomfo, Mkokstad is having sexual relations with men and this emanated from a debate regarding a gospel song of the year.
Zimoja reports that an event organiser, Gqomfo, headed to his Facebook page, accused Mkokstad of sleeping with other men despite being married to his wife.
It is not clear why Mkokstad mentioned Gqomfo’s name when he posted that people must vote for another gospel sensation, Betusile Mcinga.
“A war of words has erupted between event organiser Aviwe Gqomfo and award-winning gospel artist Dumi Mkokstad over who must be voted on the Ukhozi FM song of the year,” reports the publication.
“Gqomfo mentioned that Mkokstad never went to the mountain for initiation as per the Xhosa culture.
“He further claimed that Mkokstad was rich because he was sleeping with other men.”
After receiving more than 700 reactions and comments, Gqomfo decided to delete the post from the social media application.
“I don’t know what you are talking about. I really don’t know,” said Mkokstad per the report.
“I don’t want to comment further on the matter as I am taking legal action against Gqomfo. I am aware of the allegations he made against me through his Facebook page. It’s a long story to explain why he made those allegations. My lawyer will deal with him.”
Entertainment SA has also sighted a report that the multi-award winner, Mkokstad, is taking a legal route and might file for defamation of character against Gqomfo.
Meanwhile, ESA recently reported that Dumi refused to be drawn into bad publicity over the Crown Gospel Awards winner and opted to say the winners were voted for by the public.
This comes after some of his artists failed to clinch an award but he headed to social media and set the record straight that he does not want to hear stories that artists signed under his record label were cheated.
“The Crown Gospel Awards take songs with potential, put them on their platform, and allow people to vote for the artists they want,” he said in a video.
