There’s no doubt that South Africa’s finest comedian and television host, Trevor Noah’s career has reached dizzy heights, but he now reveals his preferred career choice.
Noah, born in Johannesburg but now based in the United States of America, says he grew up loving any related to computers but he opted to become a funny man.
As his days of hosting the Daily Show draws near, Noah shared what profession he would have chosen had he not been in the entertainment industry as someone who turns anything into a joke.
During a Between the Scenes clip shared on Twitter, the Johannesburg-born entertainer jumped from wanting to go into IT to a salesman and, finally, a teacher.
“I’ve always loved working with computers,” Noah says, adding that he built computers in high school and initially started working as a comedian to earn money to pay for varsity.
“Funny enough, that’s how my journey began. I was trying to save up money to go to university so that I could study IT at the time. And then I just carried on working, and I haven’t stopped since. So, now maybe I’ll go to university and maybe get that degree.”
Additionally, Noah added that he also wanted to be in marketing as a salesman because he loves helping people “when it comes to buying technology, buying a car…”
The 38-year-old recalled a moment when he just moved to New York from South Africa and lived out his dreams of being a salesman when he helped a woman buy a laptop for her grandson in a Best Buy.
In another choice, Noah says he would have chosen is to be a teacher as his final choice when it comes to preferences.
As previously reported on by Entertainment SA, Noah announced that he is leaving The Daily Show and his final day is on Thursday, December 08.
From there, the popular comedian will go to Qatar to catch a few FIFA World Cup matches, before jetting out to his country of birth to spend the festive season with his family.
Social media users react to Noah’s career options:

“He will be missed. The only reason I tuned in to the show.”
@Branko Golubovic commented:
“I’m an IT. Thank you Noah for going with entertainment and activism.”
@John wrote:
“OMG! I laughed so hard I’m crying. I’m using that. They call them frogs because they make a noise that sounds like a frog. “Damn you, Mr. Noah.” And I’d buy whatever Trevor was selling, just to hear him explain it.”
