BREAKING: Under pressure Kaizer Chiefs announce two new signings

Just before facing Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday night, Kaizer Chiefs have announced two big signings of Christian Saile Basomboli and Thatayaone Dilhokwe on Thursday.

Amakhosi ensured they boosted their chances of fighting for the league title as they believe the Congolese hitman, Basomboli will help ease their goalscoring issues.

Basomboli completes his switch from Zambian top-flight side Nchanga Rangers, and the 22-year-old has penned a three-and-a-half-year deal at Naturena.

He is expected to be registered immediately to alleviate pressure on top-scorer Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and might be available to face Sundowns at FNB Stadium.

Chiefs are still licking their wounds from the 4-0 loss they suffered against AmaZulu in the DStv Premiership and the signing will come to also ease their worries heading to the weekend clash.

On the other hand, the Naturena-based giants also announced the signing of Botswana international Thatayaone Ditlhokwe who signed a pre-contract.

“Kaizer Chiefs are pleased to announce the signing of Congolese 22-year-old left-footed striker Christian Saile Basomboli,” announced Chiefs.

“Basomboli arrives in Naturena after penning a three-and-a-half deal with the Glamour Boys. Welcome to Amakhosi!”

Botswana skipper Ditlhokwe has penned a four-year deal with coach Arthur Zwane’s men and his contract will be effective from July 2023. He joins from SuperSport United.

“Ditlhokwe Pens a Pre-Contract with Chiefs Kaizer Chiefs are delighted to announce the signing of a pre-contract securing the acquisition of left-sided centre-back, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, from SuperSport United. We look forward to welcoming him to Amakhosi,” added the club.

Meanwhile, Zwane expressed his views on the possibility of being sacked by the club, saying they have a plan and they must execute it.

“To be quite honest, I am not worried [about possibly losing his job]. I am not worried because we have a plan as a club,” he told the media on Thursday.

“A plan that needs to be executed. If you look back, for how many years have we been trying to hit the ground running..did it work for the club? It didn’t work.”
