The world’s most fastest man Usain Bolt is planning to launch a legal process and threatens to sue an investment company following the missing R205,6 million.
It is reported that the Jamaican Olympic icon has just discovered that a whopping $12 million (R205.6 million) was missing from an account he had with Kingston-based investment firm Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL), according to his lawyer.
Linton P Gordon, a lawyer for Bolt, said the account was part of the retired sprinter’s retirement and lifetime savings.
“The account was part of Bolt’s retirement and lifetime savings,” Gordon said per Daily Mail.
“It’s distressing news for anyone, and certainly in the case of Mr. Bolt, who established this account as part of his private pension.
“If this is correct, and we are hoping it is not, then a serious act of fraud larceny, or a combination of both have been committed against our client.”
Various media outlets indicated that a number of clients for Stocks & Securities Limited have reported missing funds and the firm said Jamaica’s Financial Services Commission is investigating.
News24 has it that Bolt was recently told there was only about $12 000 (R205 000) remaining in the account, his lawyer Linton P Gordon said in a phone interview.
The 36-year-old legend also headed to social media where he shared a brief post, ‘deafening silence’ following a remark made by the Financial Services Commission on Tuesday that it had installed its own temporary manager at SSL.
In addition, Gordon said if Bolt does not see the money returned within eight days, he plans to take the case to the Supreme Court in Kingston.
Bolt, an eight-time Olympic gold medal winner, is considered the world’s fastest man in history, holding world records in both the 100m and 200m races.

“When you were running for Jamaica and winning the Ministers in Government were posting you on all their social media. Now that you were robbed they aren’t really vocal. I suggest Jamaica raise the money and reimburse you. Concert or something. That’s the least.”

“All of them should be charged with treason. They have put the financial sector of this island in jeopardy by stealing from you, a living legend.”
