Sparky Xulu receives the Royalty Soapie Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor

Zenzelisphesihle “Sparky” Xulu’s fame continues to increase, and he is finally receiving the accolades he deserves.

In celebration of his victory, Xulu took to his Instagram account to pen a lengthy and heartfelt post. He expressed his gratitude for the recognition and thanked the production team at The Estate, for giving him the opportunity to play Siya.

Sparky has been in the performing field for some years now and he continues to leave audiences enthralled by his talent and charisma. His portrayal in The Estate on SABC 3 as Siya Phakathwayo, garnered him the Outstanding Supporting Actor award at the Royalty Soapie Awards.

Winnie Ntshaba, a TV actress and businesswoman, arranged the awards event, which took place on Saturday night, March 10, at The Galleria in Kramerville, Johannesburg.

In honour of his accomplishment, Xulu wrote a lengthy and meaningful statement on his Instagram account. He expressed his thanks for the accolade and praised the production team at The Estate, for providing him the opportunity to play Siya.

“Firstly I would like to thank @royaltysoapieawards for this award it’s such a great blessing to be valued and seen in this industry that I love so much. Next, I would love to thank my @cmptvee family for the great environment they created for me to do my thing with the greatest support. My DOP Isaac and his team abo @stevie_lumps @tvndlazi.

“To @minicooper5694 and abafana bakhe bo gesi, Sir Alex Ferguson and Mr Mo soundy woundy. @watucaroline Caroleee for making me happy ❤️. @mlambophindile1 and her awesome wardrobe team who always make it seamless to get into character. In addition, he used the chance to thank his former co-stars for helping him bring his role to life.

“My wonderful co-stars @zeno.kuhle Zakey for always bringing out that range in my performance @linda_sebezo uyazi ke nawe mamzo, @nadiavalvekens thank you for your patience and always being a team player. Finally @sdumo.mtshali and @actoraubrey I’m forever indebted to both of you Ta Aubz you took me in and we played and it shaped the foundation of the character then bafo weza ke nawe wathi let’s go “Bafo hamba mina ngizozwa ngawe eyakho le scene” ????????❤️.

“My wonderful and overworked directors (due to me) @twiggymatiwana @sibusiso5989 the late night calls the long discussions and fights, thank you for protecting and fighting for this character I really appreciate you guys so much. @bongekilendaba and @chisangakabinga thank you ladies for writing such a beautiful character that had avenues for so many layers ❤️. Thank you EVERYONE!@ayandasithebe_ I APPRECIATE YOU MY KING,” he captioned the post.

Sparky left The Estate in late 2022 and he took to his Instagram page to share the shocking news. “As I approach my final week on THE ESTATE, I just want to say thank you to everyone who watched and enjoyed the work I put in for this character and show. I really enjoyed telling his story. Now I have to put him to bed. SIYABONGA PHAKATHWAYO,” he captioned the post.

Now, he stars in BET Africa’s Redemption where he portrays the part of Zwelakhe Zikode.
