Donald Trump Pleads Not Guilty To 37 Charges In Historic Arraignment

Former US President Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty to 37 charges related to his alleged mishandling of classified documents. Trump appeared in Miami Tuesday afternoon.

According to New York Post reports Trump’s charges stem from his alleged misuse and concealment of more than 100 top-secret documents after leaving the presidency in January 2021. Trump was released on his own recognizance after a 45-minute proceeding.

The former president is barred from engaging with his aide Walt Nauta, who was charged with six counts in the 44-page indictment, about the case according to CBS News.

Trump left the courthouse and flew to New Jersey where on Tuesday night he addressed his supporters at his Bedminster resort.

Alina Habba, Trump’s spokesperson and attorney said the arrest was politically-motivated.

“The people in charge of this country do not love America. They hate Donald Trump,” Habba told NBC News outside the courthouse following his arrest.

Trump took to Truth Social before he turned himself to authorities calling his arrest a “witch hunt.”

“ON MY WAY TO COURTHOUSE. WITCH HUNT!!! MAGA,” the former president wrote.

After his day at court he went back to Truth Social to thank the state of Miami and that it was a “sad day”

“Thank you Miami. Such a warm welcome on such a SAD DAY for our Country!”
