The search for the missing commercial submarine is still underway. The submarine went missing during a tourist missing at the Titanic shipwreck site in the North Atlantic.
While speaking on ABC’s Good Morning America the U.S. Coast Guard commander leading the effort, Rear Admiral John Mauger said “Over the last 24 hours we’ve flown multiple aircraft over the site looking for any signs of the surfacing of the submersible.”
In a tweet, Mauger said the Crews have searched about 10,00 square miles by Tuesday morning and that they will expand to underwater areas.
In the meantime, crews have used sonar to try to listen in on any sound the craft is emitting, according to Mauger.

According to a nuclear submarine captain who holds more than two decades of experience said he doesn’t think it’s possible to rescue the five passengers trapped in the missing submersible near the Titanic wreck.
Ryan Ramsey, who served with the Royal Navy, US Navy and Dutch Navy, when asked if he believes the vessel will be rescued he replied with a “ “tragically, no I don’t. “I don’t think the capability exists yet,”
The vessel operated by OceanGate lost contact with the company less than two hours after it departed for its voyage and it’s unclear if they made it to the Titanic shipwreck site.
Ramsey said that due to the vessel’s ability to go up to 13,000 feet underwater makes it extremely difficult to find and rescue.
“How do you locate a 7-meter submersible over 3 kilometres down in the ocean near the Titanic?” he said. If they are able to find it, Ramsey doesn’t know how they will be able to rescue it.
“Current submarine rescue systems operate down to about 600 meters and are geared to rescue off other submarines, not submersibles,” the former submarine captain said.
“The conditions are so extreme – and it hasn’t been done before,” he said of the massive rescue operation currently underway. Responders need “time to plan, position and execute,” he said. “They don’t have it.”
“I personally would have found the risk too much for me,” he added.
Search relocate after noises heard Again
“Noises” have been heard by rescuers searching for a tourist submersible near the Titanic shipwreck in the Atlantic North.
The U.S Coast Guard says a Canadian P-3 plane – using sonar buoys – heard the sounds, which US Navy experts are now analysing and underwater operations have been relocated to explore the location that the noises are coming from. However according to Mauger, so far the remote operated vehicles have “yielded negative results.”
“Additionally, the data from the P-3 aircraft has been shared with our US Navy experts for further analysis which will be considered in future search plans,” the Coast Guard tweeted.
The five men on board include British businessman Hamish Harding, 58, British-Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, 48, and his son Suleman, 18, French explorer Paul-Henry Nargeolet, 77, and Stockton Rush, 61, the chief executive of OceanGate.
Passengers onboard had paid a quarter-million dollars to journey down to the wreck of the Titanic.
