Jamie Foxx facing sexual abuse lawsuit in New York

Oscar-winning actor Hollywood star, Jamie Foxx is in hot waters right now as he is facing allegations of sexual assault in a lawsuit filed in New York City. The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, claims that Foxx groped her at a Manhattan rooftop bar in August 2015.

According to the lawsuit, the assault occurred after the woman and her friend approached Foxx for pictures. The complaint alleges that Foxx began groping the woman against her will until she was interrupted by her friend. Foxx’s representatives have not yet responded to the lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages.

The case is one of several high-profile lawsuits that have been filed under the Adult Survivors Act, a New York state law allowing such complaints even if the statutes of limitations have expired. The deadline for such complaints under this law is at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, music industry veteran Jimmy Iovine is also facing a lawsuit for sexual abuse, filed by a woman who claims she was abused, forcibly touched, and subjected to harassment and retaliation in August 2007. Iovine’s spokesperson expressed shock and stated that they had not been aware of the complaint prior to its filing. Other notable figures sued under the law include Russell Brand, Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, Donald Trump, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and Axl Rose.
