Cardi B and Offset are facing legal action for allegedly trashing the Los Angeles home they rented. The couple, who confirmed their split earlier this month, is being sued by their former landlord for unpaid rent, utility fees, and significant property damage.
According to documents obtained, the landlords claim the couple vacated the property without notice in October 2023, having failed to pay rent and utilities for a considerable period. The lawsuit seeks to reclaim money and damages for permanent stains, scratches, burn marks, broken furniture, and other issues, estimating potential costs of up to $85,000 to restore the luxury property.
The landlords allege they attempted to resolve the matter before resorting to legal action, but their efforts were ignored. As of now, neither Cardi B nor Offset has responded to the lawsuit.
Earlier this month, Cardi B confirmed her separation from Offset, expressing that she had been single for a while but was hesitant to make it public. The couple, who married in 2017, had reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram, prompting speculation. In a Live video on Instagram, Cardi B mentioned that she wanted to start 2024 with a fresh, open outlook and expressed excitement about a new beginning.
