South African actress, television personality, businesswoman, accountant and human rights activist Nomzamo Mbatha is paying homage to Apple Music’s request with a curated playlist that commemorates South Africa’s 30-Years of Freedom.
Posting on the socials, she shared her insights into the songs featured on the playlist.
“Curated a playlist at the request of @applemusic in celebrating #30YearsOfFreedom. Which song on my playlist sticks out to you? Or did I miss?” she wrote.
Reflecting on the chosen songs, Nomzamo shared her sentiments:
- They evoke deep nostalgia, reminiscent of Saturday mornings filled with the aroma of breakfast cooked by her father, mingling with the scent of Mr Min furniture spray. It’s a time filled with pure joy and gratitude for family.
- They transport her back to her teenage years, navigating adulthood and college life, where Friday and Saturday nights were spent dancing on speakers or studying to the backdrop of music.
- They encapsulate the essence of December summer days, with GQOM beats pulsating through the speakers, stirring an inexplicable feeling within.
“Music that will remind you of a place and a time and the people who made it a moment,” Nomzamo adds, inviting listeners to join her on a journey through memories and moments captured in each song.
Give the playlist a listen.
