“A beloved partner, big brother, uncle, surrogate parent, godfather and friend, Bill recently and happily celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by cherished loved ones. However, before his Hollywood success, he served as a radar technician for eight years in the US Air Force. Bill embarked on his acting career later in life, leaving behind an office job at IBM and a car salesman role to move to New York to pursue his passion, reports the Mirror US.

Before his big break, he lived the classic starving artist lifestyle, picking up odd jobs to make ends meet. His very first acting role was in Ride a Black Horse.

Fans were devastated by the news, expressing their sorrow on X, formerly known as Twitter. One fan wrote: “Life well lived. Great actor! I remember him best as the OG in ‘New Jack City’ that warned Nino he was ruining the Black community with his drugs and ended up shooting Nino at the end.”

“He was an extraordinary good actor. His voice talking voice was remarkable too. May Bill RIP 90 years old is a long time on this earth. Now a days you be lucky to make it to 30,” another said. A third chimed in: “Damn! ! ! ! I recognize him from a lot of shows and movies …He was in ‘The Bodyguard’ with Whitney and ‘Demolition Man’ with Stallone and Snipes … RIP King! “.
