Swedish-born singer and songwriter Snoh Aalegra has been announced as the headliner for this year’s Rocking the Daisies festival, set to take place in Cape Town from October 3 to 6. The festival, held annually at Cloof Wine Estate, features both local and international artists, offering a vibrant celebration for music lovers.
Fans of Aalegra, known for her hit single “I Want You Around,” quickly took to social media to express their concerns about the festival being held exclusively in Cape Town, urging the organizers to bring the star to Johannesburg as well.
“Come to Joburg, Cape Town is so far,” wrote Facebook user Reneilwe Koketso.
Another Facebook user, Noeleen Skeep, commented, “WHAAAAAAT!!!!! Please please do a show in Johannesburg too, you are my favourite of the new school female artists, I just love your voice!”
The enthusiastic pleas from Aalegra’s Johannesburg-based fans did not go unheard. In response to their requests, Steyn Entertainment announced that the R&B star will perform at the In The City event on October 6 at Monte Casino, Fourways, for a special one-night-only experience.
The Johannesburg-based entertainment media company, Steyn Entertainment, shared the exciting news on their social media accounts, much to the delight of Aalegra’s fans who once again took to social media to celebrate.
Aalegra expressed her excitement about performing in South Africa, looking forward to her shows in both Johannesburg and Cape Town. She will be joined by Nigerian singer and songwriter Ayra Starr, who will be the supporting act for the events.
