“Kevin will be there!”- says Pep Guardiola

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has buried all rumours linking his star player Kevin De Bruyne with a move away from the club. As of late, there have been reports linking the Belgian midfielder with a shock move to Saudi Arabia.

Considering the transfer window closes on the 30th of August, there is still time for De Bruyne to sort out his future. Guardiola has added that he does not foresee any major changes to his squad before the transfer deadline. If there are any changes, it is not expected to be his key player part of them.

Pep Guardiola spoke in a press conference at North Carolina State University ahead of their opening pre-season tour match against Celtic F.C.

See what he said below:

“Kevin is not leaving!” Guardiola highlighted at the press conference.

“I am delighted with the squad for many years. The future is uncertain, but if someone leaves, we will talk about that.”

“Of course, until the last day we have opportunities [to make changes], I can’t rule it out. But 85-95% we [will] have the same squad. We’ve made an impact in the market and every situation is different. I feel comfortable because the quality we have in the squad is difficult to replace,” said the City boss.

This can ease the hearts of fans, as their former Premier League Player of the season will return for his 10th season in City uniform.

Here’s what fans on X had to say about the announcement:

@FabrizioRomano posted, “BREAKING: Pep Guardiola has just confirmed that Kevin de Bruyne will NOT sign for Saudi Pro League this summer. “No, Kevin is NOT leaving”, Pep says. Fake news, as clarified yesterday.”
