Mamelodi Sundowns complete record signing for Brazilian forward!

Mamelodi Sundowns have increased their attacking threat with the addition of Brazilian center-forward, Arthur de Oliveira Sales. Masandawana have made a big statement, paying a record breaking 3.2M.€ (R64 million) for their new signing!

This serves as the club’s second signing of the transfer window, following the arrival of Moreirense midfielder, Kobamelo Kodisang.

The 22-year-old Brazilian forward made his mark last season in the Belgian Challenger Pro League with Lommel SK. He notched 10 goals and provided 2 assists in 24 league games, showing glimpses of his attacking potential.

His addition to an already stacked squad means that the forward will have to work to earn his spot at Chloorkop. He is set to assist his countryman, Lucas Ribeiro and prolific striker, Peter Shalulile, in the goal scoring workload. This is something Sundowns struggled with over the duration of last season, especially in the crucial point of the season.

He has already joined his new teammates on their pre-season tour in Austria, where he hopes to show what he brings to the table ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 season.

Sales joins The Brazilians on a long-term deal, with the intention to increase their firepower and hopefully bring them the much-needed nudge to cross the final hurdle in the CAF Champions League.
