Next month, Cape Town will play host to some of the world’s most inspiring artists, athletes, musicians, and environmental advocates as The Earthshot Prize arrives to shine a spotlight on ground-breaking solutions for our planet.
The Earthshot Prize Awards will be co-hosted by Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award-winning Billy Porter, alongside South African TV icon Bonang Matheba. Audiences can expect captivating storytelling and show-stopping performances that celebrate the creativity and resilience of environmental innovators, especially those working across the African continent.
From November 4-7, Earthshot Week will celebrate 15 visionary finalists from around the globe, each pioneering innovations to heal and regenerate the Earth.
South Africa’s own Nomzamo Mbatha, actor, humanitarian, and Earthshot Global Ambassador, will host Earthshot Week alongside fellow ambassador and Australian wildlife photographer Robert Irwin. Together, they’ll lead thought-provoking events and discussions with environmental champions, bringing together past and present finalists to forge new partnerships and elevate their impactful ideas.
The star-studded broadcast will feature performances from Grammy-nominated artist Davido, Tanzanian music sensation Diamond Platnumz, and South Africa’s own Tony Award nominee and Grammy winner, Lebo M, who will be joined by the Ndlovu Youth Choir. DJ and international headliner Uncle Waffles will also bring her electrifying beats to the stage, while stars from East, West, Northern, Southern, and South Africa join the celebration.
Announcing the five Earthshot Prize Winners across critical categories will be an impressive line-up, including supermodel Heidi Klum, activist and actor Nina Dobrev, acclaimed artist Tobe Nwigwe, and supermodel and entrepreneur Winnie Harlow.
