Kanye West isn’t ducking from the haters, he’s embracing the heat. After his wife, Bianca Censori, turned heads at the 2025 Grammys in a barely-there sheer dress, the “Heartless” rapper doubled down on his admiration for her bold fashion choice. Amid the inevitable social media uproar, Kanye took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to shower his wife with praise.
“My wife’s first red carpet opened a whole new world,” he wrote on February 6. “I keep staring at this photo like I was staring in admiration that night. Thinking wow, I am so lucky to have a wife that is so smart, talented, brave, and hot.”
And in case anyone thought the barely-there gown was a last-minute pick, Kanye revealed that the “invisible dress” went through six rounds of tailoring before Bianca—who had been taking a break from filming her first movie—debuted it on music’s biggest night.
Then, like a true fashion mystery, Kanye and Bianca vanished before the ceremony even started.
“Just like magic, poof, we disappeared,” Kanye said. “Thank you to all the outlets who recognized us and gave us back the energy we put in.”
While the rapper basked in admiration for his wife’s daring ensemble, others had mixed reactions. Meghan McCain was among those who openly criticized the outfit on X, while Bianca’s sister, Angelina Censori, countered the backlash by proudly resharing footage of the look on Instagram.
The transparent gown also raised questions about the Grammys’ “artistic black-tie” dress code. But according to Raj Kapoor, an executive producer for the event, there’s a bit of wiggle room when it comes to fashion at the music industry’s biggest night.
“In the music industry, I guess that’s up for interpretation,” Kapoor told People. Since Bianca wasn’t performing, the dress code rules were far less rigid than those for on-stage artists.
“Obviously, there is a dress code for anybody actually performing on the show that we have to adhere to standards and practices,” he explained. “But as far as people attending and nominees attending, that would be something the Academy would have to answer.”
One person who wasn’t concerned about any dress code rules? Kanye. Instead, he focused on making sure his wife felt celebrated.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, the 47-year-old rapper summed up his thoughts with a snapshot of Bianca in the see-through dress, captioning it: “Custom Courture [sic] Grammy dress for the most beautiful woman ever. My best friend. My wife.”
