The soccer transfer rumour mill is busy this time of the year with several young stars catching the attention of PSL heavy Weights.
Among these are Muzomuhle Mcebiseni Khanyi, the 25-year old striker from Hungry Lions FC, who has attracted the attention of several PSL squads and is the latest target player for the Buccaneers and also from Amakhosi and Stellenbosch FC and some international squads such as the Township Rollers in Botswana who are rumoured to be interested in Khanyi as well.
Reports indicate that Chiefs are very keen to sign him and working hard to get his signature.
Pirates had announced last year that they were keen to sign the rising star at Hungry Lions, but Chiefs entrance as a potential alternative club is putting this possibility at risk.
The Striker has scored 14 goals in 17 matches in the current season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship and he scored six goals in the previous season. He has been linked to the Buccaneers for two windows now.
Previous Club Successes
Khanyi had previously played for Cape Umoya United where had had 11 appearances and scoring seven goals with four assists.
Muzomuhle, is the leading goal scorer in the Motsepe Foundation Championship has seen his consistant performance attracting attention from top flight clubs, with both Chiefs and Pirates now closely monitoring his situation.
Pirates have been monitoring Khanyi closely since the first half of the season, hoping to secure his signature before other clubs enter the race.
However, sources indicate that Chiefs have now made enquiries regarding his availability, potentially setting up a fierce transfer battle between the two Soweto competitors.
