A week after her private wedding, which took everyone by surprise, Zozibini Tunzi (now Bololwana) and her husband, Luthando Mluleki Bolowana, sealed their union with a traditional wedding ceremony.
The couple, who had kept their first wedding a closely guarded secret, chose to celebrate their love in a more intimate setting with family and close friends.
Zozibini, who rose to fame as Miss Universe in 2019, returned to her rural home in the village of Sidwadweni, near Tsolo in the Eastern Cape, to honour her heritage and partake in the time-honoured tradition of uniting two families.

The traditional wedding was a joyous occasion, filled with laughter, music, and dancing as the two families came together in celebration.
Zozibini and Luthando’s union was not just about the couple but about bringing together their respective families in a meaningful and culturally significant way.
Guests were treated to a display of rich Xhosa customs, including vibrant dances, the exchange of gifts, and a feast that showcased the best of local cuisine.

As if the occasion wasn’t already spectacular, Zozibini looked nothing short of breathtaking in her Xhosa bride attire. She wore a beautifully crafted traditional gown, which honoured her culture with its intricate beadwork and elegant design.
Completing her look was a black doek, a significant symbol in Xhosa culture, representing both modesty and respect. Zozibini’s attire not only emphasised her beauty but also her pride in her roots.
