Tyla is out here making power moves, and she’s doing it with style. The ‘Water’ Grammy winner was awarded the prestigious Impact Award at the Billboard Women in Music Awards, and boy, did she earn it.
The event, held at the glitzy YouTube Theatre at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, was all about celebrating the trailblazing women shaking up the music industry—and Tyla definitely fits that bill.
The moment Tyla stepped on stage, she oozed gratitude and grace during her acceptance speech. “When my career took off, I realised God had his own plans, and I just feel very lucky to have fans who have given me such an exciting life and allowed me to grow in front of the world, into all the different versions of myself as an artist and as a woman,” Tyla shared, her words resonating with anyone who’s ever followed her journey.
But she didn’t stop there—Tyla’s wisdom knows no bounds. “In life, we all have the chance to pour into one another, whether it’s through words, a performance, a dance move, or something else entirely. You never know what that might ignite in someone and what they, in turn, will pass on to another. I am truly grateful and will forever appreciate the people who have poured into me,” Tyla added, leaving the crowd in awe.
And if you thought she was done, think again. Tyla hit the stage with a sizzling performance of her hit single ‘PUSH 2 START’, reminding everyone why she’s one of the most exciting acts in music right now.
