MaMkhize Scores Another One with Mbabane Highlanders AM

Shawn “Ma” Mkhize is making headlines once again, this time as the new president of Mbabane Highlanders AM Football Club, following her departure from Royal Andile Mpisane FC. After the club’s expulsion from the Premier Soccer League due to financial challenges and an ongoing dispute with the South African Revenue Service (SARS), Mkhize is now focusing her efforts on the eSwatini-based side.

Previously, Mkhize led Royal AM FC, but the club was taken over by the curator after SARS seized luxury cars and assets in relation to an alleged R40 million tax debt. Despite her attempts to reverse the decision through the South African courts, Mkhize has now pivoted, acquiring control of Mbabane Highlanders.

Mkhize wasted no time in making her mark, rebranding the club with a new logo and adding the AM trademark to form Mbabane Highlanders AM Football Club. She was officially unveiled as president by the 13-time league champions on Saturday, marking the beginning of her leadership at the club.

In a post shared on her Instagram, Mkhize reflected on her new role, stating: “A new chapter written with purpose, vision, and heart. Leading with honour, the Highlanders way.” She also posted a video with the caption: “Next stop: The top,” signaling her ambitions for the club’s future.

In addition to her football ventures, Mkhize continues to be active on social media, sharing insights into her personal life and professional achievements. Last month, she attended the Basketball Africa League event at SunBet Arena and shared a post on Instagram declaring, “I’m a boss, and nothing’s gonna stop me.”

Mkhize also posted a photo of herself enjoying a vacation, with the caption: “There’s a lion in every woman who refuses to give up. We rise together. Keep shining, your win is unfolding.”
