As Thebe Magugu approaches a defining milestone — 10 years of reshaping fashion through storytelling and cultural reflection — the designer launches the ‘Girl Seeks Girl’ Ruffled Bohemia Dress, the first release in a limited re-edition capsule that honours the house’s most iconic works.
The series revisits foundational pieces from Magugu’s archive, each reinterpreted to define the core codes that have shaped the brand over its first decade. It’s a celebration of identity, emotion, and evolution.

“This collection is about reflection — not just on what we’ve made, but why we made it. It’s about revisiting the emotions, politics, and people that shaped these designs and seeing them through a new, more layered lens,” says Thebe Magugu.
Crafted in lightweight satin, the ‘Girl Seeks Girl’ dress is adorned with tendril-like panels along the overarm and side seams — fluid elements that flutter and wrap the body in soft, sculptural movement. The silhouette is both romantic and radical, echoing the duality often found in Magugu’s work.

The custom print is deeply symbolic: two women leaning into one another, offering quiet strength and support. In its original iteration, one of the women was depicted in tears — a reflection of the specific social and emotional context in which the print was created.
