Many questions have been asked on which is the most-watched soapie in South Africa and how much do the actors take home.
In recent years we have seen the reign of Isidingo, Scandal, Muvhango, Rhythm City, and their viewership base has always impacted positively to their cast payments.
Uzalo has taken the entertainment industry with a surprise and has been said to be the most-watched soapie and for that reason, actors get a generous treasure for their work.

Uzalo Actors and Generations: The Legacy salaries comparison as of 2020.
Uzalo firebrand Mangcobo who is the lead actress and long-serving cast member gets between R40,000 to R55,000 per month due to her influential role. Nkunzi is also a lead actor in the show he gets a salary between R40,000to R50,000 for his notorious role. Mamlambo gets a salary between R35,000 to R45,000while Fikile gets between R25,000to R35,000 a month because she plays a minor role.
Sibonelo who plays the character of Nkunzi’s son gets a salary between R25 000 to R35 000 a month. Qhabanga also gets the same range of salary as Sibonelo. Nyawo for his minor role is paid between R15,000 to R25,000 a month.
Nonka gets between R20,000 to R30,000 while Sbu is paid between R30k to R40k a month. Gabisile is paid between R35,000 to R45,000 a month. Njeza gets a salary between R25,000 to R35,000 while Nomcebo is paid R15,000 to R20,000 a month. Godfather and Thulani who play roles as Khathaza’s sons are paid a salary between R20,000 to R30,000 per month and Lilly and Zekhethelo get the same salary of R20,000 to R30,000 as well.
Nosipho who plays the character of Mangcobo’s daughter is paid a salary between R20,000 to R35,000 a month. Madlala’s salary is between R15,000 to R25,000 while Mbatha gets R15,000 to R25,000a month as well.
Generations: The Legacy Salaries 2020
With Generations being one of the most and longest aired soapie on SABC 1 it’s every actor’s desire to be part of the legacy cast.
Multi-award winner Vusi Kunene affectionately known as Jack Mabaso is the highest-paid actor on the set of Generations: The Legacy. The seasoned actor boasts of more than 25 years in the acting industry and has featured in soapies such as Isidingo as Mr. Sibeko and dramas such as the Soul. Kunene takes home a salary of R120 000 per month.
Before his exit from Generations, born Rapulana Seiphemo popularly known as Tau Mogale was also one of the most paid Legacy actors whose take-home salary was between R90 000 per month.
With a number of seasoned actors at its disposal The Legacy set take off salaries per month are high as compared to other soapies.
Musa Ngena who plays the role of Mazwi Moroka earns between R35 000 to R40 000 per month.
Generations The Legacy departee Smanga Moroka, born Moopi Mothibeli earned about R37,000 to R45,000.
Generations is one of the most-watched soapie hence they have quite a number of supporting actors and they take between R2,500 to R6,000 per call.
