Sonia Booth, Miss South Africa 2001 second runner-up and model, has taken to Instagram to call out her husband, former Bafana Bafana player and sports commentator Matthew, for allegedly cheating on her.
Sonia and her marriage became a hot topic on Monday afternoon when she decided to reveal her husband’s alleged affair, which she claims began on Valentine’s Day this year.
She shared a video of a game in which Matthew was talking about how every day in the Booth household was Valentine’s Day, only for the tracker to reveal that he had picked up his alleged side chick that morning.
Sonia’s posts detailing the alleged affair had social media users reaching for the popcorn.
The cheating couple allegedly spent a night together in Polokwane, where Matthew was given a bottle of Gucci Guilty cologne.
“They spent the night in Polokwane and the following day he dropped her off at her house. I bet it was bliss because @matthewboothza arrived home with an exquisitely wrapped gift box, one of the perfumes being ‘Guilty,’” wrote Sonia.
Sonia also brought out receipts for flowers and lunches purchased by Matthew. His alleged mistress is also said to be married, and Sonia has already made contact with event organisers.
She also described how Matthew baked a cake on the eve of their son’s birthday, only for everyone in the house to wake up to find the cake missing – only to discover that the cheesecake had been given to his mistress, who adores it.
What prompted Sonia to publicise her husband’s alleged affair? It appears she had previously given the other woman an ultimatum that if Matthew missed their son’s birthday, she would do exactly what she had done and also meet her husband.
He also gave her permission to air the dirty laundry because he didn’t know what else to do.
