Thando Thabethe is expanding her horizons when it comes to her acting career. The Actress and radio presenter landed a role in the Hollywood animation series My Dad the Bounty Hunter which premiered on Netflix. Thabethe will star in the next coming season of the series as Adja.
The 702 presenter will star alongside Hollywood stars, Janet Hubert, Keith David, Tim Meadows, Ralph Ineson, Chelsea Peretti and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
My Dad the Bounty Hunter is a Netflix animated sci-fi series created by Everett Downing Jr and Patrick Harpin. The second season will debute on 17 August 2023 and will feature Thabethe.
According toWhat’s On Netflix, the new season will see: “Sean and Lisa adjusting to their everyday lives after helping their Dad take down the conglomerate – or so they think. When Dad is taken by the intergalactic enemies, he thought they’d escaped, the kids find themselves on a new hyperspace adventure… But, this time, Mom is in the driver’s seat!”
In an interview with Variety, Thabethe said that being a part of stories that accommodate global audiences played a role in exposing her as a rising international talent.
“We’re finding ourselves working in spaces and with people that we otherwise wouldn’t imagine ourselves working in.”
The reality star shared in an interview that It was a performance that expanded her repertoire — as well as her grasp of her art. “I find acting very therapeutic, and I didn’t know that doing comedy,” she says. “It’s only once I started doing the dramas and the thrillers that I started seeing the therapy in it, and how a character can even mold you as a person.”
