American late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel couldn’t help but take a jab after hearing how much Pamela Anderson allegedly pocketed for attending Donald Trump’s birthday party.
“How sad that he has to hire people to come to his birthday party,” Kimmel joked.
The Baywatch icon stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday to chat about The Last Showgirl, her critically acclaimed film.
But before diving into her role, Kimmel brought up Trump’s past idea of making Canada the 51st state. Anderson, who lives in the small town of Ladysmith, British Columbia, didn’t seem too thrilled by the suggestion.
The conversation quickly turned to The Last Showgirl, with Kimmel rolling a clip of Anderson’s intense scene as Shelly Gardner, yelling at Brenda Song’s character, Mary-Anne. As the footage played, Anderson hid her face in her hands, making Kimmel call her out on it.
“I get a little shaky,” Anderson admitted. “But I watched the film for the first time at the Toronto Film Festival … which was pretty wild.”
Kimmel asked if she felt good about her performance afterward.
“Yeah, I did,” she said, nodding. “I felt like I had become Shelly, which I think is the goal. I wasn’t quite sure if I could…” She trailed off as the audience applauded. “It’s a lot of work, and you never know…”
With many calling The Last Showgirl her big “comeback,” Kimmel asked if the film had reignited her passion for acting.
Anderson, 57, took a moment before smiling proudly. “I think I’ve just begun,” she said.
